Cannot add data plan
"This code is no longer valid. Contact your carrier for more information."
After activating your eSIM using a QR code or a manual activation code, you may see the above error message on your iPhone.
Solution
- Verify Internet connection
Make sure your phone has an active Internet connection, either Wi-Fi or cellular data. An Internet connection is required to verify and activate the eSIM. - The eSIM is already installed
Often, the eSIM is already installed on your phone. This may happen in the background after scanning the QR code. Check the following settings:- Opens Configuration.
- Tap Cell (or "Mobile Data" in the United Kingdom).
- Tap Cellular data at the top and select the eSIM plan on the next page. This will instruct the phone to use the eSIM plan for data connections.
- Back to CellScroll down and tap on your eSIM plan. It can be called 'Personal', 'Travel' or 'Secondary'.
- Confirms that Activate this line is in ON.
- Confirms that Data roaming is in ON.
If you can find the SimConnect eSIM by following the above steps and the settings are correct, the eSIM will be ready to connect automatically when you arrive. No further action is required!
